Foundations of Mathematics (11 and 12) is a pathway designed to provide students with the mathematical understanding and critical-thinking skills identified for post-secondary studies in programs (i.e. business, arts, music and nursing) that do not require the study of theoretical calculus. Topics include financial mathematics, geometry, measurement, number, logical reasoning, relations and functions, statistics and probability. The course is modeled on formative assessment where frequent practice, quizzes, assignments and practice tests with comprehensive feedback give the student extensive opportunity for comprehension of the concepts before the section tests.
